To all my family and friends who want to contact James while he is on his mission, here is his address:
Elder James Shewell
3700 Churn Creek Rd. #2
Redding, CA 96002
He has an email address, but only has 30 minutes per week to use the computer. So, we decided to not give it out. He can barely keep up with emailing his mother. In the three weeks that he's had access to email, I haven't even gotten one reply. Cheryl has monopolized his limited amount of email time.
So, please feel free to send him snail mail. He appreciates all forms: letters, post cards, and packages.
I may start providing a weekly summary here on this blog of news that we hear from him. But, I'm a little hesitant, as I'm afraid y'all may send less mail to him, if I do.
Also, as I know how hard it is to find the extra time to send snail mail, as opposed to email, I will, as a courtesy, print and mail any email messages sent to James to: elder at shewell dot org. Of course, please understand that by so doing, I will be able to see your messages. I will not intentionally read your messages to him, but just through the handling process, it will be before my eyes, and I may inadvertently catch something. That's the only disclaimer. Oh, if a large number of messages start coming in, I may combine them together when mailing, to save on postage.
If you mail him a letter and have the extra time and money, it helps him if you provide a stamped pre-addressed envelope to reply back to you with.
The latest news on James is that he is doing very well. He went through a bit of a slump a couple weeks out in the field, but now seems to be upbeat and gung ho.
His address will change from time to time as he gets transferred, so chack back periodically, to make sure you have the latest address.
I think there is an option somewhere on this blog to subscribe to posts, if you want to be notified when I post updates. Of course, you may also get posts not related to James, but these days I do most of my posting at comfortablecomplacency.blogspot.com. (If you're interested it's political action related stuff; conservative and maybe a bit libertarian with a bit of a mormon perspective. I do get a little crude from time to time, but it's out of shear passion.)
Ok, I'm out.
Have a great weekend!
